MPD: Person arrested in connection to east side shooting

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Someone has been arrested in one of three shootings that happened last weekend, the Madison Police Department confirmed Monday.

Officials say a man was arrested for a parole violation this weekend related to the investigation.

The arrest comes after a person of interest, Jerome Jacobs, was involved in a shelter-in-place call in Eau Claire. Jacobs was not found after the call.

Two people were hurt in the shooting at Andrew Way and Trafalgar Pl. last Sunday when a driver and passenger started shooting out of their car.

MPD says callers reported hearing as many as 20 shots. More than 20 shells were then found on the scene.

Officers also found vehicles that had been hit by gunfire. No other arrests have been made.

The investigation is still ongoing.
