Inaugural Madison Comic and Pop Culture Expo kicks off this weekend

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - The Madison Comic and Pop Culture Expo is hosting its inaugural weekend, celebrating everything from comics, anime and gaming.

WMTV’s Gabriella Rusk sat down with Ben Penrod, founder of MadEx Nerd Street to learn more about this event is bringing nerds and fans of pop culture together.

Eventgoers can expect to see over a 100 vendors and artists along with special guests like Tom Kenny, the voice of SpongeBob, as well as other celebrities from The Walking Dead, Phineas and Ferb among others.

Madison Comic and Pop Culture Expo opens its doors at the Alliant Energy Center Saturday Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday Sept. 15 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
