Get your updated vaccines this flu season

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - As the weather gets colder, Wisconsin will soon be entering flu season. Public Health Madison & Dane County wants to remind people to get their updated vaccines.

Vaccinations for both COVID-19 and the flu are now updated, meaning they are adapted to new strains and mutations.

“Every year, the flu vaccine is updated to target the strains that are expected to circulate, and it’s developed through a careful, transparent process,” PHMDC Director Janel Heinrich said. This process is designed to make sure the vaccine works well so you can trust you’re getting the best protection available.”

Those without insurance coverage should not worry, as PHMDC still offers immunizations.

Children going to schools in the area should also be vaccinated, especially with required vaccines such as the meningitis and pertussis vaccine, as well as the Covid and flu vaccines.

For information on where to get your vaccine, visit the PHMDC website.
