Forward Theater Company seeks donations to reach $4 million endowment goal
MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Forward theater is kicking off their Future Forward Endowment challenge campaign.
Sarah Milestone, the director of development, and Jen Upoff Gray, the artistic director, sat down with WMTV Thursday to talk about the campaign and their community work.
At the end of December, they will be closing out an endowment campaign to help cover the funds needed to produce their performances. According to Gray, ticket sales typically only cover half of what they need to put a show on the stage.
They are hoping to raise $4 million by the end of the year, and are $300,000 away from reaching that goal. Recently, the Pleasant T. Rowland company agreed to match every dollar donated to the theater company.
“We work with organizations in the community and it really does support Madison’s creative culture and the economic vitality of our town,” Milestone said.
Forward Theater Company is Madison’s professional theater group and are in residence at the Overturn Center. They work with around a dozen nonprofit partners throughout each season.
