22-year-old dead after being hit by pickup truck in Sauk Co.
MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A 22-year-old died Tuesday after he was hit by a pickup truck in rural Sauk County, the sheriff’s office announced Friday.
The crash happened around 5:30 p.m. around Hwy. 33 and Lake Virginia Rd. in the Town of Excelsior.
The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office explained a 43-year-old man was driving a Ford F250 when a 22-year-old pedestrian entered the street in front of the truck.
Authorities say the truck was unable to stop and hit the man, who died on the scene.
After reviewing the evidence, the sheriff said the truck driver was exercising due care and reacted appropriately on the “unlit, rural highway.” The driver of the truck also cooperated with police during the investigation.
