Monona car chase suspect arrested in Sun Prairie
MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - The Monona Police Department announced Wednesday that the 20-year-old man accused of leading the police department on a car chase late last month has been arrested.
After a warrant was issued for Travion Flowers’ arrest on Oct. 28, Monona Police Chief Brian Chaney said MOPD requested help from the U.S. Marshals Service Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force in their hunt for Flowers.
Members of the Task Force work underneath the supervision of the U.S. Marshals Service to track down criminal fugitives.
Chaney confirmed that Flowers was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Sun Prairie on Wednesday morning.
Flowers was taken to Dane County Jail on a warrant and a probation violation.
MOPD noted that during the chase, Flowers leaped from the driver’s seat while the car was still moving. He ran away, and allegedly stole a car from a nearby driveway in Monona. He sped off, was spotted by a Dane County deputy and allegedly led police on another chase before ditching the car and running away.
In addition to the Great Lakes Regional Task Force, MOPD was assisted by the Sun Prairie Police Department.
