Former Sun Prairie East QB Jerry Kaminski shines at Manning Passing Academy, eyes big season at North Dakota
MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Former Sun Prairie East quarterback Jerry Kaminski is already making waves at the next level with the University of North Dakota, and he’s carrying that momentum straight into the 2026 season.
Kaminski’s summer has been productive, too. He was recognized as a standout at the prestigious Manning Passing Academy, where he also won the “Air It Out Challenge” — an honor earned against top quarterbacks from around the country.
Now, Kaminski hopes the lessons he picked up from Peyton and Eli Manning translate into wins for the Fighting Hawks this fall.
“It was an awesome experience. Peyton and Eli Manning were awesome too… they were involved in everything. They were at every meeting, every throwing session… they were coaching you, helping you with things,” Kaminski said. “Being around the top guys in the country… and two NFL Hall of Famers… I feel like I learned a ton. I’m able to bring a ton back to school and use this to advance my game a little bit more this offseason.”
Kaminski played in 14 games last year, throwing for 2,570 yards and 26 touchdowns.
Kaminski also scored eight rushing touchdowns, gaining over 600 yards on the ground for the Fighting Hawks.
The University of North Dakota opens the season at home on Thursday, Aug. 27 against LIU.
