MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - If you’re looking for a family-friendly way to get out of the house this weekend, Beloit has got a can’t-miss event packed with star power and a great cause.

The Border Brouhaha Softball Slam is back this Sunday at 3 p.m. at ABC Supply Stadium in Beloit — a high-energy charity softball game bringing together pro athletes, sports legends, and celebrities from both sides of the border to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

This year’s lineup is stacked, led by Packers legend and event host Mason Crosby, with Jordy Nelson and Ahman Green also set to suit up. The guest list also includes Bears player Daniel Hardy, Olympic gold medalist Bonnie Blair, and plenty of other familiar faces — including WMTV 15 Sports Director Mike “Jocko” Jacques.

“I can’t wait to play on Sunday. It’s so much fun to play alongside Mason and Jordy and in front of all the fans,” Jacques said. “The best part is raising money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.”

Fans can make an afternoon of it with a full slate of pregame fun. Gates open at 2 p.m., followed by a VIP meet-and-greet at 2:15, and a Home Run Derby at 2:30 before the first pitch.

Beloit Sky Carp President Zach Brockman says the event hits home — and fits the organization’s mission.

“Make-A-Wish is near and dear to us,” Brockman said. “We’re the community living room. We want to put on events like this because they’re fun for everyone in the community.”

First pitch is set for 3 p.m. Sunday at ABC Supply Stadium, with proceeds benefiting Make-A-Wish.
