Red Cross seeking nominations for Heroes in Wisconsin
MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Every community has people who step up when others need help.
The American Red Cross is now looking for those everyday heroes across Wisconsin.
“Not everyday heroes wear capes, so we are looking for those folks who really do some great work, unknown in the community, quiet, but they are doing great things, helping support our communities and making them better,” Kyle Kriegel, executive director, American Red Cross, said. “We’ve got five different categories, and we are looking for folks to nominate these people that are making a difference every day in the community.”
The five categories include:
- Community impact
- Blood hero
- Disaster responder
- Military hero
- Volunteer Hero of the Year
People from southeastern and southwestern Wisconsin are eligible for nominations.
Kriegel mentioned that people who are submitting nominations will write a short paragraph on why they feel that person should be chosen.
The deadline for nominations is Nov. 20.
WMTV’s Mark Charter will emcee the Hope and Heroes Breakfast in May.
