Leigh anchors the 4 and 6pm newscasts on WMTV 15 News, where she has worked since 2003. Leigh has won numerous awards for her work, including a National Edward R. Murrow Award and four regional Emmy Awards, including one for best news anchor. Leigh got her start in broadcasting at The Government Channel in Athens, Ohio. She also worked for four years at WOUB-TV before moving to Madison.
Leigh has a long history of working with area non-profits. She is currently a board member of Canopy Center and is serving on the DAIS 50th anniversary committee for the next year. She also volunteers her time with NAMI, Dane County Boys and Girls Club, Clean Lakes Alliance, Tellurian, Domestic Abuse Intervention Services, Brat Fest, The Village Diaper Bank, National MS Society Wisconsin Chapter, East Madison Community Center, The Business Forum, Madison Area Down Syndrome Society, and Madison Ballet, for which she previously served on the board.
Leigh has been married to her best friend since 2012. She is a mom of two boys, ages 11 and 9, and a stepmom of a 20 and 18 year old. Leigh also teaches group exercise classes including turbokick, strength development and thrive. She recently completed a bucket list item: finishing the Ironman 70.3 Wisconsin! Leigh is an avid runner and cyclist, having completed a full marathon, many half marathons and multiple century rides.
