New inpatient rehab facility being built in Fitchburg
MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - UW Health and UnityPoint Health - Meriter and Lifepoint Rehabilitation announced Tuesday that they are building a new inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Fitchburg.
The new 58,000 square-foot facility will add 40 all-private rooms to the property.
Ryann DeGraff, the vice president, regional chief operating officer for UW Health, says he is looking forward to addressing a major community need.
“We look forward to building on the success of our existing hospital to meet the growing demand for the same patient-centered care in a location that may be more convenient for some patients and their families,” DeGraff said.
The new facility, located at the southwest corner of Lacy Road and Hwy.14, will provide many services including occupational and speech pathology services for adults recovering from conditions like a stroke.
Construction for the new facility is expected to begin in 2025. It will officially open in 2026.
