MPD Chief to be honored in police hall of fame
MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes is set to be entered into a police hall of fame honoring his years of service.
The Evidence-Based Policing Hall of Fame is run through George Mason University and honors police nationwide who have progressed research programs in their departments.
“This is a great honor of my career, and I am proud that this recognition will be associated with the Madison Police Department,” Barnes said.
The recognition comes after Barnes was named a National Institute of Justice LEADs Scholar for using technology to reduce crime.
Barnes is one of eight to be inducted into the hall of fame this summer.
