Power outages reported in southern Wisconsin
MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Thousands of Alliant Energy customers and We Energies customers were without power Tuesday night as strong storms rolled through southern Wisconsin.
Around 11 p.m. Tuesday, Alliant Energy reported approximately 1,810 customers affected by power outages. By 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, nearly 400 customers remained without power. Almost all of those customers were located in Walworth County.
We Energies reported 4,427 customers were affected by power outages around 11 pm. Tuesday. As of 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, around 317 customers were still without power. Around 150 of those customers were based in Milwaukee County, while about 140 of them were from Waukesha County.
We Energies’ website acknowledged that many their customers in Southeast Wisconsin were experiencing power outages and that they were working to restore power.
Also on Wednesday morning, around 250 Madison Gas & Electric customers were without power. The company’s outage map shows two outages on Madison’s east side that make up all of the power outages.
