MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - The suspect accused of abducting a Beaver Dam teen has been extradited to Wisconsin, according to Dodge County Jail records.

Gary Day, 40, faces charges of abduction of a child and child enticement in Dodge County. The Sarpy County District Attorney’s Office said it dismissed the misdemeanor charges that he faced in Nebraska, and an Arkansas state extradition complaint, to speed up his extradition to Wisconsin.

Sarpy County authorities said Wisconsin officials took custody of Day Wednesday morning.

On April 3, authorities arrested Day in Sarpy County, Nebraska, on two warrants he faced of out of Wisconsin and Arkansas in relation to missing Beaver Dam 17-year-old Sophia Franklin. Day pleaded not guilty to the Nebraska charges on April 4, and waived extradition on April 10.

Franklin had been missing for nearly 2 months. She has since been reunited with her family.

She was last seen on February 2 and an Amber Alert was issued the following day. At the time of her alleged abduction, Franklin was 16 years old and three months pregnant. She was believed to be traveling to Arkansas with Day, who investigators said is the father of her unborn child.
