UW-Madison cancels classes Friday due to extreme cold
MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - The University of Wisconsin-Madison has canceled classes for Friday, January 23, according to a release.
Cold temperatures are expected to start Friday and continue through the weekend.
The cancelation impacts all class meetings, including lectures, labs and discussion sections.
All UW Athletics events are expected to be held as scheduled, including Men’s & Women’s Hockey.
A UW spokesperson told WMTV the last time UW-Madison canceled classes because of the weather was during the polar vortex in January 2019.
First Alert Meteorologists declared Friday as a First Alert Day due to the life-threatening cold conditions that will develop.
