UW Health hosts third annual Celebration of Life event

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - UW Health hosted its third annual Celebration of Life event on Saturday.

The event brings together stem cell transplant and cellular therapy survivors, family and friends.

According to UW Health, around 400 people attended, along with Bucky Badger.

At the Monona Terrace, they were able to share stories and experiences while learning about the program’s future initiatives.

Speakers included a stem cell transplant patient in 2023 and Dr. Natalie Callander, director of the UW Carbone Cancer Center Myeloma Program.

The program performed 250 transplant and cellular therapy infusions in 2025 with a team of 14 physicians and 15 advanced practice providers, according to UW Health.
