Snowmobile accident leaves one person dead in Iowa Co.

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A snowmobile crash left one man dead in Iowa County Thursday.

According to officials, a call came in at about 10:30 a.m. to the Iowa County 911 Center that reported a snowmobile crash on the Military Ridge Trail between CTH BB and CTH YZ.

Emergency units were immediately dispatched to the area, however, the 67-year-old man was pronounced dead on the scene.

Officials say the victim is Richard Koch of Jefferson, Wisconsin. Authorities say Koch was heading Eastbound on Military Ridge Trail when he reportedly lost control of the snowmobile. They say he was then ejected from the snowmobile and suffered serious injuries.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is still investigating the incident.
